STYPSI  pronounced as  STIPSI

Stypsi owes its name to `styptiria', a hyposulphite of aluminium and potassium, which is fοund in abundance in the subsoil of the area,  and is used in the processing of hides and as an excellent mordant in dyeing.
In the past Mining that element give its name to that area, the word Stypsi is related to the Earths elements and the three stages of solids, liquids, and gases,  therefore the village  adapted the name from that mineral  ΣΤΥΨΗ  (pronounced as STIPSI).
